“My batteries are low and it’s getting dark.”

A digital illustration inspired by NASA’s Mars rover Opportunity‘s (translated) last words (see title) as a sandstorm blocked out its solar panels’ ability to provide it with power. Opportunity was expected to last 92 Earth days on Mars, but would end up gathering data for 14 years, exceeding its lifespan by 55 times.
